The Penn State Alumni Association has awarded the IST Alumni Society the New/Innovative Event or Program Award for the society’s work organizing TEDxPSU. The PSAA writes:

The College of Information Sciences and Technology Alumni Society created the TED x PSU event. In conjunction with current IST students, the alumni society sought to spread new and innovative ideas and to bring people together while listening to renowned thinkers and performers through videos and live speakers. The TED x PSU had a live audience of more than 1,100 at University Park, while more people participated across the country and watched TED x PSU online.
